A hospital in Szczecin has admitted a 34-year-old man with flu symptoms.

The man returned on Thursday from Britain where he said he had been in contact with a Dane who had spent two weeks in Mexico. On Saturday, the Pole reported to a local hospital in Gorzów Wielkopolski. He was immediately transported to Szczecin.

The man’s wife and child are also under observation. 

So far there has been one confirmed case of H1N1 influenza in Poland, in a 58 year-old woman who flew in from the USA. The woman, who is in a hospital Mielec, is to be released tomorrow.
