Gunter Verheugen, head of the EU commission for enterprise and industry is on a visit to Warmia and Masuria, where he has participated in the Europe Day celebrations in the city of Olsztyn.
Yesterday, commissioner Verheugen received Golden Laurels from the rector of the Warmia-Masuria University and presented a lecture on the significance of Polish-German relations for European integration. He was also awarded with the title of Friend of Warmia-Masuria.
Today, Gunter Verheugen is in Ostróda, receiving the town’s Honorary Citizenship, where he is also to embark on a boating trip along the picturesque Ostróda-Elbląg canal.
