• Civic Platform to abort in vitro fertilisation?
  • 26.03.2009

A member of the ruling liberal Civic Platform, Sebastian Kapiniuk, told Polish Radio Thursday morning that his party will not be presenting their project on the bill regulating in vitro fertilisation to the Sejm parliamentary lower house.

The law, which would bring Polish legislation in line with the European Union's conventions and directives on bioethics, is to be split into a few statutes.

The Civic Platform MP added that the members of the party will be able to decide for themselves on the outcome of any voting, as the party whip is not employed on matters regarding personal beliefs.

Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska from the Civic Platform, and also the politician in charge of the proposed bill on bioethics, will shortly present the party's recommendations for the proposed controversial bill to parliament.
