Poland lost 2:3 (1:1) with Northern Ireland in a World Cup qualifier after a very poor performance in Belfast.

The loss has reduced Polish chances for advancing to the next stage from Group 3 playoffs practically to nil. Poland is presently in 5th place out of the group's six teams with only 7 points in five games played. Fans will have to get slowly accustomed to their team's absence in the World Cup tournament finals in the Republic of South Africa next year.
