  • 31.03.2009

Flexible work time and paid work breaks are the main elements of the package of anti-crisis measures discussed by the Polish government. The thirteen -points plan is the result of the solutions agreed by the government in agreement with Poland's trade unions.

According to Michał Boni,  the head of a group strategic advisors to the PM, work on the project should be undertaken soon while the package should be submitted to Poland's lower house of the parliament, the Sejm in April.

PM Donald Tusk said that the policy outlined in the document can be accepted by the government. "All the parties involved claim that they are willing to give up some of their privileges in order to effectively save jobs. Trade unions have given their consent to the idea of a flexible work time, employers are ready to co-finance jobs that would otherwise be in danger of being lost and the government is ready to co-finance the whole project".

According to initial estimates, the governmental assistance for the project should not exceed a billion zloty.
