Twelve Polish drivers have been assaulted in Holland.

The Poles claim to have been attacked by security men of the Schavemaker logistics company in Breda Hazeldong in which they were employed. One of the beaten Poles had to be taken to hospital for treatment. The Consular Department of the Polish Embassy at The Hague suspects the drivers could have been attacked by a group of outsiders hired by the Dutch company to get rid of the Poles who allegedly tried to organize a strike action. They were brutally dragged from the premises after being forced to sign contract severance papers. Police had been called to the site of the incident and an investigation is being launched following interrogation of witnesses.

However, Polish consular officials at The Hague are not sure whether the Polish drivers in question had legal employment status in the Netherlands as they have been officially registered with the company’s branch based in the locality of Katy Wroclawskie in south-western Poland, but had stayed abroad for long months. The consulate announced it would refer the case to the Dutch labor inspection office.
