PM Donald Tusk said following his meeting with president Barack Obama that the two countries will establish a common strategy of actions before the Climate Summit to be held in Copenhagen in  December. He stressed that both Poland and the US share their goals on the issue.
“Since the climate conference in Poznan the government and I personally have been engaged in forging such a packet of agreements on the subject as not to make it risky for coal-based economies. Americans and Poles have a similar approach to the issue of the climate protection. Both countries aspire to be leaders of climate initiatives and both countries are quite heavily dependent on coal.”
