Poland's Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski who met with his American counterpart during the EU-US summit in Prague said that the new US administration has a favorable stand towards the project of the Eastern Partnership. He informed that he discussed it with Hillary Clinton during the EU-US summit in Prague.
"I can say with a great satisfaction that just as Barack Obama while talking to heads of states and governments  praised the project of the Eastern Partnership so did Secretary of State Hilary Clinton. I had a conversation with Mrs. Clinton on how the US and the EU, including Poland, can implement joint projects connected with the Eastern Partnership'.

The Polish-Swedish initiative of the Eastern Partnership was officially presented to the EU leaders in May 2008. Its aim is to improve the political and economic trade-relations of the six Post-Soviet states of strategic importance - Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia with the European Union.
