Polish police has conducted a nationwide action against persons disseminating child pornography.

Sixty eight suspects have been detained. Karol Jakubowski from the Warsaw Police Department told Polish Radio: ‘The action had been supervised by officers from National Police Headquarters. At 6 am several hundred policemen across the country searched 61 house premises. They confiscated 76 computers, 19 hard discs and some 7 thousand CDs, DVDs, diskettes and video cassettes.’

Now, prosecution experts will decide on pressing charges against the detained persons. If found guilty, they could face prison sentences of up to 8 years envisaged by Polish law for disseminating child pornographic material.
