Eight French children and two adults were hurt in an accident on the A4 motorway in southern Poland, when their bus crashed into a lorry that had hit another lorry which had driven into a car parked on the hard shoulder.

All of those injured were taken for observation to a hospital in Legnica.

The children had been going to Kraków for a week-long exchange programme.

The crash also caused giant traffic hold-ups on the route.
