• Polish president visits Lithuania

President Lech Kaczynski is paying a two-day visit to Lithuania. While in Vilnius he is to meet with his Lithuanian counterpart Valdas Adamkus and the country’s PM, Andrius Kubilius. On the agenda of talks are the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of energy as well as the issue of the Polish minority in Lithuania.

Both presidents are to sign a joint declaration expressing the will of political and economic cooperation, especially in the field of security, energy, transport and national minorities. A ceremony of exchanging national distinctions will also take place - Lech Kaczynski will present the Lithuanian president with the Grand Cross of the Order of Poland Reborn and receive the Order of  Vytautas the Great with the Golden Chain.

While in Vilnius Poland’s president will also address the Lithuanian Sejm and visit the local cemeteries where Polish soldiers were laid to rest.
