• UEFA continues inspection of EURO 2012 venues in Poland

The UEFA delegation, headed by its president Michel Platini is continuing a working visit to Warsaw to check on the progress in preparation for the Euro2012 games.

Mr. Platini has already visited the National Stadium and had a working dinner with representatives of the government and the Polish Football Federation (PZPN).

Sports minister Miroslaw Drzewiecki ensured journalists that the results of the inspection so far have been satisfactory. “All the works included in the master plan and in the schedule of actions which are to be carried out within a certain period of time are being implemented. We do not have problems with financing our investments and we are ensured of the budget for the project” said Drzewiecki.     

Today, the UEFA delegation is meeting with the Polish organizers of the Euro2012.

Next week UEFA Secretary General, David Taylor, will tour all six Ukrainian and Polish candidate cities for hosting matches. The final decisions as to which city will host which tournaments will be made by UEFA Steering Committee during their next meeting between  8 and 13 May.
