President Lech Kaczynski has appealed in Vilnius for solidarity of Poland and Lithuania on the international arena in order to fight for common interests more effectively. "We share views on the matters connected with the diversification of not only the supplies of gas and oil but also electric energy. (...) We share a vast amount of strategic problems that we should jointly work on for our joint benefit" he said.
Poland’s head of state is paying a two-day visit to Lithuania. He has already met with his Lithuanian counterpart Valdas Adamkus and the country’s PM, Andrius Kubilius.
On the agenda of talks were the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of energy as well as the issue of the Polish minority in Lithuania. (di)
