• Euroterminal expands in Silesia
  • 17.04.2009

The Euroterminal rail freight complex in the Silesian town of Sławków today celebrates the completion of an enlargement of the complex.

A new warehouse and rail to ground transfer unit have been built at a cost of 80 million zloty, around 25 million US dollars. The aim of the Euroterminal is to boost trade with China, amongst others.

The terminal in Sławków is the westernmost point in Poland where wide-guage rails lead, meaning that freight can travel from Poland to the Ukraine, Russia and China without the need for further bogey adjustment.

The opening of the new additional complex has been timed to coincide with the European Economic Congress, which is taking place in Upper Silesian city of Katowice.
