The chairman of the Polish Football Association Grzegorz Lato underlines that the preparations for the tournament are in full swing
'At the beginning there were threats that we can be deprived of the championships if Poland does not manage to fulfill the UEFA requirements. Now however, works are underway, roads and hotels are under construction as are the stadiums.’
The recent visit of Michel Platini and UEFA representatives in Poland dispelled the worries of the Polish Euro 2012 committee concerning the championships in Poland, though Grzegorz Lato pointed there were doubts as to the road construction works in Poland.
On May 13 the UEFA executive committee is to decide which of the cities will be hosting the Euro 2012 matches. Michele Platini, who also visited Ukraine said that probably six to eight cities will be selected. Both in Poland and Ukraine six largest cities are preparing for the event.
