The Lutheran Church in Poland has withdrawn its confidence in its Head, Bishop Janusz Jagucki.  The move follows the bishop’s confirmation that he had collaborated with the secret police during the communist period.

During the Church’s Synod in Warsaw, he expressed regret for the collaboration and asked to be pardoned. According to secret police files published by Polish media, Bishop Jagucki had cooperated with the secret police for seventeen years. (mk)
