The results of an initial investigation show that engine failure was the reason behind yesterday’s crash of a light-aircraft in Skarbimierz, south-western Poland.

The machine crashed shortly after take-off at a former Russian airfield. A 36 year-old pilot and a 21 year old woman suffered serious injuries.

According to information provided by the spokesman of local police, the propeller was not moving when the crash happened which would indicate the engine malfunction. The police did not exclude that the pilot's mistake could have been another reason for the Sunday crash. (di)
