Renewable sources of energy top the agenda of an international conference which brought together, to the Tatra resort of Zakopane, representatives of the Tatra National Parks from Poland and Slovakia and of the Rocky Mountain National Park in the United States. Poland has shown an interest in following the American experience in utilizing solar energy in the Tatra National Park.

The three national parks, in Poland, Slovakia and the United States, concluded a cooperation agreement in 2007. It provides for an exchange of experts and the organization of joint conferences and seminars.

The current conference in Zakopane is co-organized by the US Consulate in Krakow.
