A Nigerian man is the author of the first-ever book published in Poland telling the story of the Warsaw sports stadium, which turned into a giant international bazaar in the 1990s.

The Decade Stadium, in right-bank Warsaw, had to make way for a modern sports arena when Poland began preparations for the football World Cup in 2012.

For twenty years the stadium-cum-bazaar brought together a multitude of nationalities, from Polish, to Russian and Vietnamese traders.

Nigerian Ify Nwamana, an English graduate from Lagos, came to Poland in 2005 and for two years sold t-shirts, winter jackets and shoes at the bazaar. He now has a family here and hopes to make a living no longer as a stall owner but from writing books.

His book of reminiscences on life at the stadium (Stadium. Devil's Playground) comes out today.
