Senate Speaker Bogdan Borusewicz today leaves with a three-day visit to St.Petersburg, where he will be participating in many meetings with the Polish diaspora, within the celebrations of the Day of Polish Expatriates and Poles Abroad.

He will also hold talks with representatives of the city authorities and Russian parliamentarians.

It is estimated that some 35% of Poles - that is about 20 million - live outside the country, making the Polish diaspora one of the biggest in the world.

Last year, the main celebrations of the Days focused on Greece.
