The sixth Jewish Motif International Film Festival opens at Warsaw’s Muranów cinema.
The even is intended to showcase Jewish heritage in feature films, documentaries, animations and experimental works from across the globe made over the last three years. Polish productions, alongside films from countries including Germany, Croatia, and Morocco will compete for the main award of the event, the Warsaw Phoenix.
As tradition has it, the festival will include a retrospective of the artistic output of the event’s honorary guest. This year’s artist in the spotlight is cinematographer Adam Holender, the camerman behind works such as Paul Auster’s and Wayne Wang’s Blue in the Face, or John Schlesinger’s Midnight Cowboy.
The festival will wind up on 3 May.
