Mariann Fisher Boel has come to Warsaw for talks with Polish officials on the shape of the Union’s new CAP.

She noted that developments in Polish agriculture are heading in the right direction with stress on its structure change evidenced by statistics pointing to growth of the average farm area in the country.Mariann Fisher Boel said this process has been achieved mainly thanks to the efforts of Polish negotiators who secured favorable conditions for Polish farmers still during EU accession negotiations.

The Agriculture Commissioner stressed that presently Poland will take part in the CAP negotiations as a full Union member. Its new budget will be binding as of 2013.
