The European People’s Party Congress has wrapped in Warsaw. Held at the Palace of Culture and Science it saw participation from presidents of the European Commission and European Parliament, plus prime ministers of the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and France.
During the two-day event this entre-right, Christian-democrat political grouping within the European Parliament launched its manifesto for the June elections to the European Parliament. The document emphasizes the creation of the wellbeing of European citizens and their security, the fight with climate changes and demographic challenges as well as the unity of Europe on the international arena.
The party’s program also includes a call for a European Security and Defence Pact and a strategic agreement with the US and other allies on security issues. (di)
