A commemorative international conference devoted to the 5th anniversary of Poland’s membership in the European Union took place in Warsaw with the participation of highest ranking Polish and foreign politicians. 

The session was launched by PM Donald Tusk and the head of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso. According to Mr. Barroso, Poland’s accession to the EU was beneficial both for the bloc and for the country itself. President Lech Kaczynski also addressed the participants of the conference.

Two debates were on the agenda. One was called „Looking back” while the other - “New Challenges”. In the evening the participants of the conference attended a concert of Polish music in the Warsaw Philharmonic. (di)
