• Swine flu in Wrocław "a false alarm"
  • 01.05.2009

An 8-year old girl is under observation in Wrocław, she may be infected with the swine flu.

The girl came back from Mexico ten days ago. She is undergoing tests and results are expected later today. The girl is in a generally good shape, doctors say and the case is most probably a false alarm.

'The girl is right now at home. There is no need to keep her in hospital, if the parents agree to keep her isolated for a while, just in case,' said Jacek Klekoczar of the local sanitary services office.

There has been no confirmed cases of swine flu in Poland, so far. Polish Health Ministry said the country is prepared to fight an epidemic should it break out. There is generally no panic but people have been buying sanitary masks in larger numbers than usual, pharmacies have reported.
