• Budget needs amending, says head of state
  • 08.05.2009

During a meeting with analysts the Polish head of state expressed concern with the budget and called for its amendment
‘Questions concern  not only the year 2009, but also several months of 2008., where there were no takings recorded. 2008 was a year of significant development so there is no rational explanation to the recorded difficulties in the budget.’ Said the Polish head of state
Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the amendments to the budget would be discussed in July. In the present budget law the government has assigned a GDP growth at the level of 3.7% , while it is already obvious that it will be lower. Therefore, the state budget will be receiving less takings, which can bring  a growth of deficit or introduction of higher taxes.
