On May 9 - Europe Day, which commemorates Robert Schumann’s coal and steel initiative of 1950 which became the foundation for European integration, the tenth Schumann Parade passed through Warsaw.

Ewa Modrzejewska from the Robert Schumann Foundation told Polish Radio that the Schumann Parade was different because it was positive and affirmative; that it was not concerned with political orientations or preferences but welcomed everyone who feels to be European.

The parade’s guest of honour was first Polish Prime Minister after 1989, Tadeusz Mazowiecki.

Events marking Europe Day were held nationwide in Poland.
