May 9 is also World Fair Trade Day, observed in 7 cities throughout Poland: Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Toruń, Łódź, Gdańsk and Lublin.
Among the attractions are snacks bearing the Fairtrade logo, served at tables covered with checkered cloths. Among those participating in the events is the Polish Humanitarian Action aid organization, which is part of the Fairtrade coalition.
Goods which have the Fairtrade label are usually slightly more expensive but, among others, they are guaranteed not to have been made for instance with the exploitation of children.
