  • 11.05.2011

The International Association of Athletics Federations has announced that Poland will host the 2013 World Cross Country Championships.

The western city of Bydgoszcz will take responsibility for the contest the second time, following on from the success of the inaugural event in 2010.

“Bydgoszcz has been a superb organiser of IAAF World Athletics Series events from the inaugural World Youth Championships in 1999 through to the 2008 World Junior Championships and most recently last year’s World Cross Country Championships,” said IAAF president Lamine Diack, announcing the news in Monte Carlo today.

“We are delighted that we will again experience their warm welcome, dedication and experience as an event organiser.”

The championships are set to take place on 24 March. (nh)
